Activision wants to revive Sierra
Sierra, the developer known for games like King’s Quest and the Crash Bandicoot series, may be back. This is noticeable at a new website that owner Activision has put online.
Activision took over the rights and assets from Sierra during its 2008 acquisition of Vivendi. So far, the developer has done nothing with it, but that seems to be about to change.
On the Sierra site that Activision has now put online, there is a short video clip showing the studio’s logo again. In addition, there is the text that more will be announced at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. The games fair will take place from Wednesday.
While it’s unlikely that Sierra will be revealed until Gamescom, there’s a chance Action may want to relaunch King’s Quest and the Crash Bandicoot series with the studio. Rumors about this have been known for a long time. At the end of last year, it was reported that Activision would be looking at the return of its game-cracker Crash Bandicoot, a long-time mascot for the PlayStation.
