The first gameplay of WW2 shooter Call of Duty: Vanguard has been shown. During the opening night of the gamescom, about ten minutes of footage from the single player campaign was released. The multiplayer mode was not yet seen.

The gameplay footage contains a lot of bombastic action and shows the player taking on the role of the Russian Polina Petroca. That is one of the four fictional characters that the single player campaign revolves around. Polina is a nurse when the Germans invade Stalingrad. She will eventually become one of four specialist members of a team tasked with shutting down the Nazis’ Project Phoenix.

The role of Polina is played in the game by Laura Bailey. She was present at the gamescom opening night to talk about it, along with David Swenson of developer Sledgehammer Games. Call of Duty: Vanguard was announced last week. The game will be released on November 5 for consoles and PC.
