Activision sells stripped-down multiplayer version of Black Ops III

Activision is temporarily offering a cheaper version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The Multiplayer Starter Pack only includes some of the game’s multiplayer features. The starter pack is available until February 29 for 14.49 euros.

The package contains nothing of the single player part of the game, so the campaign and zombie modes are missing. Parts of the multiplayer are also missing: it is not possible to play in custom matches and the maximum level that a player can reach is 55. Furthermore, there is no access to the mod tools and it is not possible to use the mod tools in the future. unranked mode. This limits the game to mainly standard multiplayer and the arena.

The stripped-down game is only available on Steam for 14.49 euros. The Multiplayer Starter Pack is available until February 29. After that, the game can still be played, but no longer for sale. From the limited version of the game it is possible to play with others who have the full version, but only in the modes available in the starter pack. Players who still purchase the full version will receive a discount equal to the amount they paid for the Starter Pack.

Multiple iterations of the Call of Duty series were essentially separate games on PC. For example, with Advanced Warfare and the first Black Ops, the multiplayer and single player can be installed independently of each other and they appear separately in the Steam game library. For the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of Black Ops III, Activision decided to provide only the multiplayer and zombie mode. That decision was made at the time because the developers were unable to transfer all functionalities to the older consoles.
