Activision says Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will take up more storage space compared to its predecessor due to additional content being available from release date. Early access players on PS5 noticed that the game requires over 200GB of storage space.

Activision writes Thursday that players can transfer their acquired weapons and other items from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3 from the release date. The Zombies mode is also immediately available. According to the developer, this explains the size of the game, which several early access players noticed, writes IGN. Activision says that players can choose which files they want to activate or disable if necessary to save storage space in the file manager of the COD HQ launcher or the console itself.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases on November 10 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and PC. It was developed by Sledgehammer Games, which also created Modern Warfare 2. In addition to the single-player campaign and multiplayer mode, Modern Warfare 3 also includes a new version of the free-to-play game mode Warzone.
