Activision makes PC version Black Ops 4 exclusive to Battle.net
Blizzard has announced that the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be available to download exclusively from Battle.net, Blizzard’s platform. Previous COD games were offered on Steam.
The news was announced by Blizzard on its website. The company states that the PC version will have the same features as the versions that appear on the consoles, such as cross-game chat and integration with the mobile app.
It’s not the first game to appear on Battle.net, but it wasn’t developed by Blizzard. Last year, Activision brought Destiny 2 exclusively to the platform. Activision is also the publisher of Black Ops 4 and merged with Blizzard ten years ago to form Activision Blizzard. However, Blizzard points out that this is not an indication that many other games from other developers are coming to Battle.net anytime soon.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a first person shooter primarily focused on multiplayer. Unlike previous Call of Duty games, the game doesn’t have a single player campaign, but it does get a battle royale mode. The game will be released October 12 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
