Activision is making new Pitfall for the Wii

With Pitfall: The Big Adventure, publisher Activision Pitfall returns Harry. This time Harry goes on an adventure in the jungle of Peru. The game will only be released on the Wii in Fall 2008.

According to developer Edge of Reality gets the game has over 60 levels, all set in Peru. The player travels from the rainforest through caves full of vermin to the glaciers on the tops of the Peruvian mountains. The player can use the Wii Remote to swing from liana to liana while avoiding snapping crocodiles. In addition to such action, the player will mainly be presented with puzzles.

Edge of Reality was also responsible for the last game starring Harry, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition. It appeared in 2004 on the Xbox, the Playstation 2 and the Gamecube. The original Pitfall, back then with a ! behind the title, appeared on the Atari 2600 in 1982. It was one of the best-selling games for the 2600 and sold more than 2.5 million copies. According to publisher Activision, the entire series has sold more than 10 million copies.
