‘Activision is already working on a successor to DJ Hero’
DJ Hero will not be released until October 27, but publisher Activision would already be working on a successor and approaching artists for a next part. An English developer would be involved in the production of the successor.
The English website Games Industry has from unknown source heard that Activision is working on a successor to DJ Hero. The first part of the rhythm game has yet to be released and will hit stores on October 27, featuring a special controller in the shape of a turntable. Despite this, the publisher would have already approached artists for the sequel. For example, DMC Champion and veteran DJ Qbert would have been asked to contribute to a next game. The sequel would again be made by Activision’s own FreeStyleGames, but according to Games Industry, an independent English studio has been approached to help with the production of the game.
Activision has never made it a secret that it wants to make DJ Hero a series, just like Guitar Hero. Mike Griffith, director of Activision, released earlier this year know that he thinks he can reach a larger audience with DJ Hero than with Guitar Hero, which has 15 million players.
