Activision gives first look at new Japanese map for Call of Duty: Warzone 2
Activision and developer Infinity Ward have released some images and details for Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s upcoming new playing field. An earlier teaser already hinted at a Japanese setting, which is confirmed by the first screenshots.
Call of Duty’s Twitter account has released multiple images of the new playfield called Ashika Island. The publisher explains that the map will be used for two different game modes: DMZ and Resurgence. The new map will be available from February 15, the date of the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s second season. The free-to-play Warzone 2 is part of the game.
In DMZ, it’s not about being the last one standing in the playing field as usual, but about completing missions and collecting valuable loot. Resurgence was already present in the original Warzone and differs from the regular battle royale mode, in the sense that fewer players are allowed in and there is no gulag. Players who are felled can return to the battlefield after a while, provided at least one teammate is alive.
