Acer releases Chromebook 2-in-1 with 3:2 screen of 2256×1504 pixels
Acer has announced two new Chromebook Spin models with touchscreen. The Chromebook Spin 713 has a 13.5″ screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The Spin 311 is aimed at students.
According to Acer, the Chromebook Spin 713 is based on Intel’s Project Athena, with which Intel wants to offer a number of guarantees in terms of battery life, among other things. For example, Acer promises that the Spin 713 can last up to ten hours, measured with Google’s Loadtest. The Chromebook includes a flip-up IPS screen with a resolution of 2256×1504 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The processor is an unnamed chip from Intel and the laptop gets up to 16GB DDR4 and a PCI-e NVME SSD of up to 256GB. The thickness is 16.8 mm and the weight is 1.37 kilograms.
The Spin 713 also includes two usb 3.2 gen 1 ports with type c connector, displayport mode and charging option. In addition, there is HDMI, USB 3.0 and a microSD card reader. In terms of connectivity, there is support for 802.11ax with a 2×2 adapter and bluetooth 5.0. The Chromebook will be available in Europe in August for a starting price of 699 euros. There will also be a version with enterprise management options for 899 euros.
The Spin 311 is a smaller Chromebook with 11.6″ touchscreen for students. This laptop contains a MediaTek8183 soc and can therefore last up to 15 hours during work. The laptop supports 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. weight is 1 kilogram.This entry-level Chromebook will be released in June for a starting price of 299 euros.
