Acer releases 13.5″ Swift 3 with 3:2 screen and 14″ variant with Ryzen 4000 chip

Acer adds two new laptops to its Swift 3 series. This includes a smaller 13.5″ model with Ice Lake CPUs from Intel, and a 14″ variant with Ryzen 4000 chips from AMD. The Intel variant will be released in the Benelux in January. The AMD model will follow in April.

The Swift 3 SF313 will have a 13.5″ screen with a resolution of 2256×1504 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The screen can display 100 percent of the sRGB color space. The SF313, like the 14″ model, will be announced at IFA comes with Ice Lake processors from Intel. In addition, Acer supplies up to 16GB of ram, an nvme-ssd of 512GB and an unknown Nvidia-gpu. Presumably this is the MX250, which can also be supplied in the 14″ Swift 3.

The laptop meets Intel’s requirements for Project Athena. This project can be seen as the successor of the ultrabook. Laptops that meet the requirements of Project Athena must have a minimum battery life of nine hours, at least one Thunderbolt 3 connection, and support for Wi-Fi 6. The laptop also has a fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello. The laptop is 15.95 millimeters thick and weighs 1.2 kilograms.

In addition, Acer shows the SF314-42, a Swift 3 laptop that contains a Ryzen 7 4700u CPU. The laptop comes with a 14″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. This laptop also comes with a maximum of 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. This laptop also has WiFi 6 support due to the presence of an 802.11ax modem The product also has a fingerprint scanner, just like the Intel model.

Acer Swift 3 SF314

Acer gives no further details about the laptop, but Windows Central and Hardware.info report that the SF314 comes with an integrated Vega 7 GPU. According to Acer, the laptop weighs 1.2 kilograms and is 16.55 millimeters thick. The Intel model will be released in January in the Benelux and will have a suggested retail price of 799 euros. The AMD laptop will follow in April with a suggested retail price of 699 euros.
