Acer launches three new Chromebooks

Acer announced new Chromebooks at its press conference in New York. According to the manufacturer, the Chromebook Spin 15 is the first convertible Chromebook with a 15.6-inch screen.

The Chromebook Spin 15 is the only new model with Chrome OS to be released on the consumer market in the Benelux. The laptop has an IPS LCD with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a housing with a weight of 2.1 kilograms.

There are variants with different processors. For example, there is a version with Intel Pentium N4200, Celeron N3450 and Celeron N3350. The lpddr3 RAM has a capacity of 4GB or 8GB; the processors support up to 8GB. The emmc storage has a capacity of 32GB or 64GB. The housing contains two USB-C ports with USB 3.1, two USB-A ports with USB 3.0 and a micro-SD card reader.

In addition to the Chromebook Spin 15, Acer also comes with the Chromebook 13 and Chromebook Spin 13 for the business market. They have a 13.3″ screen with an aspect ratio of 3:2 and a resolution of 2256×1504 pixels. They have an aluminum design with a USB-C connector on each side for charging and data transfer, a USB-A port and a micro SD card reader Optionally, a Wacom EMR stylus is included, which users can store in the housing.

The Chromebook 13 Spin has a Core i5-8250U or Core i3-8130U on board, with 16GB of lpddr3 memory and up to 128GB of emmc storage. The Chromebook 13 has to make do with a Core i3-8130U or Celeron 3865U, with up to 16GB of lpddr3 and 32GB or 64GB of emmc storage.

The Chromebook 13 Spin and 13 will be available from October for 699 and 499 euros respectively. The Chromebook 15 Spin will be available in the Benelux from July for a price starting at 449 euros.
