Acer introduces Spin convertible with 3:2 screen and included stylus
Acer introduces two models in the Spin series of convertibles. These are the Spin 5, which has a 3:2 aspect ratio screen, and the somewhat cheaper Spin 3, with a conventional 16:9 screen. Both convertibles come standard with an active stylus.
The Spin 5 SP513-54N, as the model is fully called, is equipped with a tenth-generation Intel Core processor and has a maximum of 16GB of RAM. The screen, which folds around the housing, has a 3:2 ratio and ‘2K resolution’. It is not clear to which precise resolution Acer is referring. Presumably it concerns 1920×1280 or 2160×1440 pixels. The screen supports the use of a stylus, using the Wacom aes technology. Acer supplies an active stylus with the convertibles.
The housing of the Spin 5 is made of an alloy of magnesium and aluminum and is equipped with a fingerprint scanner. The housing is 14.9 mm thick and the weight should be 1.2 kilograms. Acer states a battery life of 15 hours. The Spin 5 will be available in the Benelux from April from 1100 euros.
