Acer Introduces Curved 37.5″ Monitor
Acer has announced a 37.5″ monitor. The XR382CQK is curved and has a 21:9 ratio with presumably a resolution of 3840×1600 pixels. The display also features a 10bit IPS panel.
The screen has a response time of 5ms and a refresh rate of 75Hz, which can be dynamically adjusted with FreeSync. Partly due to the 10-bit color depth, the monitor is able to display one hundred percent of the srgb gamut. The maximum brightness is 300nits.
Acer reports a screen resolution of 3440×1600 pixels, but that is probably incorrect. It is not a 21:9 ratio and, moreover, there are no panels known with that resolution. LG does make a panel with this screen diagonal and aspect ratio, with a resolution of 3840×1600 pixels.
The stand gives the option to tilt the monitor 5 degrees forward and 35 degrees back and rotate 30 degrees left or right. The height can be adjusted by 13 cm. Furthermore, the monitor is equipped with two 7-watt speakers.
The monitor can be connected to a computer with HDMI 2.0 or Displayport 1.2. Furthermore, it can be connected with a USB-C cable to serve as a USB 3.0 hub with four ports. Acer gives the monitor a suggested retail price of 1299.99 dollars, which converted and including VAT is about 1460 euros. It is not known whether and when the monitor will be available in the Benelux.
