Acer introduces Chromebook with Snapdragon 7c-soc with eight Kryo 468 cores
Acer has announced the Chromebook Spin 513, a laptop that contains a Snapdragon 7c octacore and, partly because of this, would offer a claimed battery life of up to fourteen hours. The starting price is 429 euros.
With the Snapdragon 7c, the Acer Chromebook Spin 513 gets a Qualcomm chip for laptops announced last year with two powerful Cortex A76 cores at 2.4GHz and six efficient Cortex A55 cores. Qualcomm has this chip made at 8nm at Samsung and combines the Andreno 618 GPU on the soc. By default there is 8GB Lpddr4x ram and 128GB storage.
The Spin 513 has a flip-down 13.3 “screen with an IPS panel and 1080p resolution. The weight is 1.2 kilograms. There will be models of the Chromebook with an illuminated keyboard and Acer will also be variants with an LTE modem. Providing 4G connectivity, 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 support, and up to 14 hours of battery life measured using Google’s own Chrome OS load test.
Acer will release the Acer Chromebook Spin 513 in January 2021 for a starting price of 429 euros. In February, an Enterprise model with management options for large business use will be released for a starting price of 699 euros.
