Acer has announced the TravelMate X349. This is an ultrabook with 18mm thickness and aluminum housing, aimed at mobile workers. The 14″ screen contains an IPS panel and has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

The business laptop with a black wedge-shaped housing weighs 1.53 kilograms. The screen can be flipped back 180 degrees for a view flat on a surface, so a group of employees can discuss what’s on display, according to Acer. The keyboard can be illuminated.

Acer provides the laptop with an Intel Skylake processor up to the Core i7, a maximum of 8GB DDR4 memory and an SSD with a storage capacity of up to 512GB. The manufacturer has also provided business features such as a fingerprint reader with support for the biometric authentication functionality Hello from Windows 10 Pro and a rpm 2.0 chip for the storage of passwords and encryption keys.

The laptop includes USB 3.0, HDMI and an SD memory card reader. In addition, usb-c is available to which, among other things, the usb-c docking station from Acer can be connected. With the docking station, the number of ports can be expanded with five USB interfaces, HDMI and displayport.

Acer will start supplying the TravelMate X349 in September, for a starting price of 480 euros, but it is not known which configuration the Taiwanese manufacturer will supply for this amount.
