Acer Introduces 15.6″ Chromebook

Acer has announced a new Chromebook. The Chromebook 15 has a 15.6 “screen that is optionally equipped with the full HD resolution. In addition, there will be a new version of the Chromebook 13, which will have a touchscreen from the Taiwanese company.

The Chromebook 15 comes with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, but there are also cheaper variants with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. In addition, there will be versions with 2GB or 4GB RAM, and with 16GB or 32GB emmc storage. The processor is a Core i3 from Intel’s new Broadwell generation, but again a cheaper option in the form of a Celeron processor is becoming available.

The laptop weighs 2.2 kilograms and is 24.2 mm thick. The connection to a wireless network is via a mimo 2×2 WiFi-ac card and there is also support for Bluetooth 4.0. There is also HDMI, a card reader and a USB 3.0 and 2.0 port. In the US, the starting price is 250 dollars, converted to 208 euros. However, the euro prices that Acer will charge are not yet known.

The Chromebook 13 will get a variant with a touchscreen. The other specifications remain the same as the current model, such as the Nvidia Tegra K1 processor. The starting price of the Chromebook 13 with touchscreen is 329 euros in Europe.
