Acer equips Nitro 5 gaming laptop with Ryzen Mobile processor and RX 560 GPU
Acer will release a new version of its Nitro 5 gaming laptop in April, which features a Ryzen Mobile processor and a Radeon RX 560 graphics card. The 15.6 “laptop with full-HD screen will cost 1099 euros.
It is not yet clear which Ryzen Mobile processors Acer will put in the Nitro 5. AMD has currently only released the frugal Ryzen Mobile 2700U and 2500U with a TDP of up to 25 watts. These chips are mainly intended for thin laptops. Rumor has it that there will also be a Ryzen Mobile 3 2200G and Ryzen Mobile 5 2400G, which would have a TDP of 65 watts. Acer may be using one of those chips in the new Nitro 5.
The previous generation of the Nitro 5 featured a combination of Intel CPU with Nvidia GPU, or an AMD FX, A12 or A10 APU with an RX 550 video card. The AMD variants never appeared in the Pricewatch. The new Nitro 5 with Ryzen Mobile and the RX 560 should be released in the Benelux. According to Acer, the laptop is for sale from April with a price starting at 1099 euros.
Acer supplies the Nitro 5 with an SSD of up to 512GB and with DDR4 memory up to 32GB. The exact specifications will vary by region according to the manufacturer. Details on dimensions and weight have not yet been disclosed by Acer.
