Acer Announces Predator Variable Refresh Rate Gaming Projectors with HDR10
Acer announces its Predator GD711 and GM712 projectors. These projectors are aimed at gamers and both offer 4k resolution and support for variable refresh rate and HDR10 images.
The Acer Predator GD711 is an LED projector that, according to Acer, achieves a brightness of up to 1450 ANSI lumens and supports HDR10. This projector supports a maximum resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, but the Predator GD711 also has gaming modes with different brightnesses and a variable refresh rate. In those modes, the resolution is reduced to 1920×1080 pixels and the refresh rate is increased to a maximum of 120Hz for consoles and 240Hz for PCs.
According to Acer, the GD711 supports different projection distances, but the company recommends a 100″ screen at a distance of 2.70 meters from the projector. The projector also has an integrated 10W speaker and a claimed life of 30,000 hours in eco mode or 20,000 hours in standard mode.Acer further equips the Predator GD711 with two HDMI 2.0 ports, an audio connector and three USB type A connections. The manufacturer writes in a press release that the projector will be released in December in the Benelux at a suggested retail price of 1499 euros.
The company is also announcing a Predator GM712 projector. It is in any case a projector with lamp and a 4k resolution. The company speaks of a maximum brightness of 3600 ANSI lumens. The maximum refresh rate of the GM712 is also 240Hz at 1080p for PCs and a variable refresh rate is also supported.
The company cites a lifespan of 5,000 hours in standard mode and up to 15,000 hours in eco mode. For the GM712, Acer recommends a 75″ screen at 2 meters away. Both the GD711 and GM712 come with the Aptoide app store pre-installed. The GM712 projector with lamp will be released in the Benelux in January 2022 and will cost 1399 euros .
