Acer and Asus announce monitors with G-Sync support
Acer, Asus and iiyama announced new displays at IFA. The first two come with screens with G-Sync, while the latter equips a monitor with FreeSync support.
Acer comes with the Predator Z35, featuring a curved 35″ panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The resolution is 2560×1080 pixels, the gray-to-gray response time is 4ms and the maximum brightness of the amva panel is 300cd/ The monitor supports Nvidia’s G-Sync, which should prevent stuttering and tearing of the image. The connections are hdmi 1.4, displayport and four USB 3.0 ports. The refresh rate is 144Hz by default, but Acer claims it can be boosted to 200Hz already is unclear how, the price will be 1099 euros at the release in December.
Acer also comes with the XB271HU, XB271HK and XB281HK. All three models have G-Sync support and the XB271HU has a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, the other two have a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The XB271HU and XB271HK are distinguished by very thin screen edges around a 27″ IPS panel, while the tn panel of the XB281HK has a 28″ diagonal. The refresh rate of the XB271HU is 144Hz, that of the other two models is 60Hz. The starting price of the models is 699 euros.
The Asus ROG Swift PG348Q has a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and the IPS panel has the 21:9 ratio. The display is curved and supports G-Sync. The refresh rate is 100Hz. The screen features Asus’ Gamevisual, which offers a choice of six image profiles. There is also GamePlus support for, among other things, the crosshair display. The price and availability are still unknown.
With the B2783QSU, Iiyama has announced a 27″ screen with FreeSync, AMD’s competing technology that also aims to prevent tearing and stuttering. The resolution is 2560×1440 pixels, the response time is 1ms and the monitor has DVI, HDMI and displayport. there are two USB 3.0 ports and the screen is 130mm adjustable in height.The price is 389 euros, but in the Pricewatch you can find slightly lower prices.
