‘About 20 percent of new Netflix customers in the US have subscriptions with ads’

Netflix has around 75 million paying subscribers in the US and a small percentage of them now have the option with ads. It seems that few customers downgrade to the cheaper plan with ads. In most cases, these are new customers or customers who have not had a subscription for a long time.

These are the first concrete figures after several months about the success of the model with advertisements for Netflix. The streaming company started the subscription at the end of last year and will therefore only be able to say anything meaningful about its success in the next quarterly figures. The new subscription is still available in relatively few countries. In the Benelux there is no option for a subscription with advertisements.
