About 11 million people try Apple Music in the first month
Apple Music has 11 million users after just over a month. The manufacturer has announced this. Everyone is still in the trial period, so it is unknown how many users will eventually switch to the paid version.
Apple aims to reach 100 million subscribers, USA Today reported. iPhone and iPad users can switch to Apple Music if they use iOS 8.4 or iOS 9, updates that were already on 40 percent of active iOS devices after a week. This means that iOS 8.4 or iOS 9 is on an estimated several hundred million devices.
According to the latest figures, competitor Spotify has 75 million active users, of which more than 20 million pay. Apple Music has no paying users yet. The manufacturer gives each customer a three-month trial period, after which users can choose to pay or stop using the service. Not only users of iOS can try the service, it also works with the latest version of iTunes on Windows and OS X. An Android version will follow this fall.
