Imitation is the highest form of flattery, some say. If so, everyone at Clubhouse is clapping their hats. But all those Clubhouse clones create a lot of competition for the original app. It’s the way established names have dealt with new apps for years now.

For those who don’t know it: Clubhouse is a live audio app, where people can host a ‘room’ that everyone can attend. The host can then add people to speak to. Clubhouse is an app from Alpha Exploration, a company of founders Paul Davison and Rohan Seth. So you can talk with acquaintances, but also with strangers. A few months ago, Clubhouse caused a lot of hype, partly because big names like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg used the app to talk.
