It doesn’t really work with foldable smartphones yet, because they are still too expensive

Samsung will present its new foldable smartphones on Wednesday as two of the most important phones of the year. For the time being, that remains a promise, because foldable smartphones are still a small niche of the smartphone market.

The Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 betray that the competition is not really on Samsung’s heels yet. Instead of taking big steps, the South Korean market leader only takes small steps: a new processor, a larger camera sensor and a battery with more capacity. There are no major changes in functionality or design with the new foldables, and there are also no spectacular price reductions.
