Google Stadia gets streaming function for streaming with a smaller group of users
Google is releasing two new streaming features for Stadia, including Party Stream. This feature allows users to start a stream and share it with up to nine others. Previously, Stadia only allowed users to stream with a YouTube live stream.
With Party Stream, users can create a group with a total of ten users, where the participants can start streams themselves or view the streams of other participants. There can be one streamer and nine viewers, or say, five streamers and five viewers, says Google according to XDA Developers.
Streamers receive a notification in Party Stream when participants view the stream or leave a message in the chat. That chat can be seen by all Party Stream participants. Party Stream also supports voice chat. Party Stream will be coming to all users in the coming days and will be available through the desktop and through the Android browser version.
In addition to Party Stream, users streaming with YouTube will have the option to switch games or devices during a stream. Previously, streamers had to start a new stream with every game or device switch. The YouTube URLs were tied to that game. So if a streamer wanted to play a different game, he or she had to start a new stream and share that new URL with his or her followers.
After the update, when switching to a new game or other device, streamers will see a Resume Livestream button, with the stream continuing. This way, viewers don’t have to switch to a new stream and the streamer keeps his or her viewers. All Stadia users are expected to get the Resume Livestream feature within a week.
