Twitter Fleets, a new way of posting
From the end of this week it is possible for many Twitter users to place Fleets. These are temporary posts that disappear after 24 hours. It is a new, accessible way to participate in the public conversation. The goal is to make users feel less pressure to talk about what’s going on in the world. In recent months, this new function has already been tested in various countries.
Twitter Fleets
Fleets help start conversations and share fleeting thoughts because they are only available for 24 hours. A Fleet can consist of text, Tweets, photos or videos and can be customized with different backgrounds and text options. Stickers and live broadcasts will also be possible soon.
How it works
At the top of their timeline, users will find the Fleets of the people they are following. With a public profile and public private messages, anyone can see and comment on your Fleets. Click on the Fleet to reply with a private message or emoji and continue the conversation in the private messages. How to share a Tweet in a Fleet:
- Click the “share” icon at the bottom of the Tweet
- Click on “Share as Fleet”
- Add your thoughts with text or emojis
