Sony makes PlayStation Now subscription cheaper and temporarily adds top games
Sony lowers the price of its PlayStation Now subscription to 10 euros per month. Previously it was 15 euros per month. Blockbusters will also become available via the service, which will disappear after three months. Now that’s God of War, Uncharted 4 and GTA V.
Gamers can now also pay quarterly; three months access to PlayStation Now costs 25 euros. The price for an annual subscription has been reduced to 60 euros, which was previously 100 euros. Sony says it will adjust the prices to make them more comparable to other entertainment and streaming services.
PlayStation Now is a subscription that gives access to hundreds of games that can be streamed or downloaded on a PS4. This mostly concerns older games that were released for the PS2 and PS3. Recent PS4 games are also available through the service, but the range of them is smaller.
From now on, Sony will temporarily add blockbusters every month. These are popular games that are available via PlayStation Now for a period of three months. The first games to come to the service temporarily in this way are God of War, Grand Theft Auto V, inFamous Second Son, and Uncharted 4: a Thief’s End. Those games will be available through January 2, 2020. To play GTA Online, the game must be downloaded. The single player part does work via the streaming function.
PlayStation Now is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC. With the PC version, only the games that can be played via streaming are available. The new blockbusters can also be played as a stream. It is the second time that Sony has lowered the price of PS Now. Last year in February the price went down from 17 euros to 15 euros per month.
