Apple Pay is available at ASN Bank and RegioBank, SNS Bank will follow soon
De Volksbank releases Apple Pay for its customers. From now on, users of ASN Bank and RegioBank can use this payment service. The function will also be enabled ‘soon’ for customers of SNS Bank.
De Volksbank writes that ASN Bank and RegioBank customers can pay via Apple Pay from Tuesday 10 May on a supported iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac. ASN Bank– and RegionBankUsers can activate the feature via the latest version of their Mobile Banking app. Users will see in their overview that they can activate the feature.
In its own words, the company has opted for a ‘phased roll-out’, so that the company can keep ‘control and overview of the go-live’. Apple Pay for SNS Bank will therefore follow ‘soon’. A specific date for this has not yet been announced.
De Volksbank has been working on Apple Pay support for its banks for some time. The company already announced in 2020 that it is in talks with Apple. In September 2021, it was officially confirmed that RegioBank is working on Apple Pay support, but did not give any indication when that feature would be released. The apps from SNS Bank, ASN Bank and RegioBank already received support for Apple Wallet, a requirement for Apple Pay, last month.
