Eastshade is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 21. The game takes place on an island of the same name where gamers are supposed to paint locations of the island. The game was released on PC earlier this year.

In Eastshade, gamers play as an itinerant painter who tries to fulfill his mother’s dying wish by capturing her favorite locations on canvas. Gradually, players get to know other characters who tell more about the island.

Unlike usual in RPGs, Eastshade contains no blood or violence. The game focuses on serene environments and artistic expressions. According to the makers, the game consists of an open world with multiple side quests, extensive forests, large cities, picturesque villages and extensive landscapes.

Players don’t actually have to paint the landscapes themselves on a white canvas. Instead, players create a composition and the game does the rest. These paintings can be given to islanders, or saved for the storyline.

Eastshade was created by Danny Weinbaum, who previously worked as an environment artist at developer Sucker Punch. In 2014 he left and founded Eastshade Studios to work on his own project. Eastshade was released on Steam in February. The game is currently for sale there for 21 euros. The price of the console version has not yet been announced.
