Insta360 Introduces New X3-360-Degree Camera with 1/2″ 48MP Sensors
Following the rumors from earlier this week, Insta360 confirms the arrival of its new Insta360 X3-360-degree camera. The camera has two 1/2″ 48 megapixel sensors and has a new 2.29″ touchscreen.
The camera can, as said, film in 360 degrees and thereby polish the selfie stick away, so that the camera seems to float around the user. It is also possible to record ‘normal’ images in 4k with a single lens.
Insta360 has opted for the same ‘candy bar’ form factor as with the Insta360 One X2. The camera can partly be operated via the touchscreen, but there are also four buttons to make the control easier, for example with gloves on. The camera is equipped with an 1800mAh battery and is water resistant. The camera can film up to ten meters underwater. The camera also has a horizon lock function, with which the camera keeps the image level with the horizon.
Insta360 focuses on content creators and has added several features to the camera that make it easier to record videos for both Instagram and TikTok at the same time. The Insta360 should further support users in editing the images they take with the X3. For example, the trailer shows the possibility to change the sky in a movie.
The Insta360 X3 is available today. In the Benelux, the 360-degree camera costs 530 euros.
