The Last of Us Part II is out February 21

Sony will release The Last of Us Part II on February 21. Along with the release date announcement, Sony has released a new three-minute trailer. The game is only available for the PlayStation 4.

In a blog post about the release date, developer Naughty Dog writes that the game is almost finished and that the studio is therefore confident in meeting the date. The Last of Us Part II features the same main characters as the first part and takes place five years after the events of that game. Naughty Dog promises a game with an emotional story and complex themes. The studio claims it is its most ambitious game to date.

The Last of Us originally appeared for the PlayStation 3 and later a remaster of the game was released for the PlayStation 4. The first part of the game has sold more than 17 million times. The arrival of part two was announced in 2016. According to the studio, work on the game started five years ago.
