Download MediaPortal 1.1 RC3
Last Friday the third release candidate of MediaPortal was released. With this program, a Windows machine can be used as the heart of the multimedia hardware in the living room. This makes it easy to listen to radio and music, as well as watch videos and DVDs. TV programs can also be recorded. By means of plug-ins and extensions, the functionality can be expanded and the ‘look & feel’ of the program can be adjusted.
Version 1.1 completely says goodbye to the old TV engine TVE2. Furthermore, a clean installation now uses MySQL 5.1 instead of SQL Server, although the latter can still be used as usual. This was done because MySQL requires less resources and also works fine under Windows 7. In this third release candidate a lot of bugs have been fixed, including several memory leaks, and it has become a lot easier to report new problems. The full release notes can be found below.

- [fixed] tvservice would sometimes hard crash when writing dx error to log
- [fixed] TeVii issues with graph building and very long tuning using diseqc
- [fixed] RTSP streaming doesn’t work after sleep, when re-init TVService is enabled
- [fixed] Unable to tune same ATSC channel/subchannel consecutively
- [fixed] stream interruptions/stuttering
- [fixed] Weekly schedules appear 1 (or more) day off in EPG when using SQLServer with certain regional settings
Community Skin Designers should review the list of skin changes since 1.0.1 .
There were some changes done which require Community Skins to update to be fully 1.1.0 RC2 compatible.

Installation notes:
MediaPortal 1.1.0 RC1 installation to RC3:
- The installer will allow you to simply “upgrade” to 1.1.0 RC3.
- Please also update your community skins and plugins to their latest version right after you installed 1.1.0 RC3!
MediaPortal 1.0.x or 1.1.0 ALPHA/BETA installation to RC3:
- these installations can not be upgraded to 1.1.0 RC3
- these installations will be uninstalled
(No data will be lost, you will find MediaPortal_backup and TV-Server_backup folders which contain the plugins,skins and userfiles of the 1.0.x installations) - refer to the upgrade guide if you are moving from an existing MediaPortal installation, older than 1.1.0 RC1.
- a present TV-Server database will be upgraded and can be reused
- do not reuse any skins, plugins, databases or configuration files from MediaPortal 1.0.x or 1.1.0 ALPHA/BETA with this Release Candidate!
