Sloclap, the developer of Absolver, has been working behind the scenes for two years on Sifu. That is a new kung fu game, which should be released at the end of this year for Sony’s PlayStation 4 and 5. There will also be a PC version on the Epic Games Store.

Sifu is an action game with a third-person perspective. Players take on the role of a young kung fu student. His entire family has been murdered by a mysterious gang and the aim of the game is to track down those killers and get revenge. The game takes place in a fictional Chinese city. According to the makers, the game will have intense and realistic fights, reminiscent of fights from classic kung fu movies.

Sony showed the game on Thursday night in its State of Play broadcast and the game will be released for the PS4 and PS5, but there is also a PC version that will be released via the Epic Games Store. A release date and price has not yet been announced.

Sifu is the second game from French studio Sloclap, which was created by ex-Ubisoft employees who previously worked on Watchdogs. Absolver was the studio’s first game, that fighting game came out in 2017.
