Google Chrome mobile version gets grid layout for tabs
Tabs in Chrome for smartphones will soon have a grid layout. With this, Google hopes to make the mobile browser more clear. The desktop version of Chrome will also receive accent colors, among other things.
In the new layout, tabs are placed side by side in a grid. The new layout allows users to group tabs by dragging them together. For example, tabs with travel information can be placed in their own folder. Google will release the new format for Android users in the coming weeks, in the iOS version of Chrome it is already available according to Google.
Google also shows that the desktop version of Chrome will get tab previews in the future. When users move the mouse over a tab, the title of the page appears. Thumbnails will also be added to the previews later. Furthermore, Google will expand the option to adjust the browser to taste; it becomes possible to set accent colors.
