Former BioShock developers announce two new games
Developers who have worked on the BioShock titles in the past have opened two different Kickstarter projects to fund new games. It concerns the titles The Flame in the Flood and The Black Glove.
Players must survive in The Flame of Flood. They have to cross the so-called backwaters on a raft and venture into all kinds of terrain. Along the way, players must search for survival tools and certain materials, which they can use to make objects, among other things. The ‘rain’ must be avoided, as it has a weakening effect on the main character Scout. She and her dog travel to the end of the river, where the redemption would be.
The developers of the new studio The Molasses Flood have worked on games like BioShock, Guitar Hero and Rock Band in the past. The first goal of the new game is to collect 150,000 dollars in a month, which is about 119,000 euros. The Flame of Flood is likely to be released in 2015 for Windows and OS X.
Developers from another studio, Day For Night Games, have previously contributed to games such as BioShock as well as SWAT 4. In The Black Glove from this studio, great attention has been paid to the storyline and decisions that are made affect on the course of the game. The game takes place in a 1920s theater. The Equinox Theater was founded by a musician, a filmmaker and an artist. However, when the main character arrives, their works are still unfinished. The player is given the task of helping the founders in completing their work. However, mysterious things happen, such as time turning back. Players have to change the past to make adjustments in the future and they do that by playing minigames, among other things.
The Kickstarter project has a target amount of $ 550,000, converted about 436,000 euros. More than ten percent of that amount was raised within a few days. The game is slated to be released by the end of 2015 for Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. Other platforms should follow later.
