Samsung wants to open a new factory in 2017 where it makes processors. According to the processor maker, the factory in South Korea is necessary to meet future demand. It is Samsung’s third processor factory in its home country.

Thanks to the factory, Samsung can produce more processors and thus meet any growing demand, the company writes. The manufacturer does not mention concrete figures or products that it wants to make in the factory. Samsung is investing around 11.6 billion euros in the factory, construction of which should start in 2015 and be completed in 2017.

The South Korean conglomerate is one of the largest processor makers in the world. It produces, among other things, its own Exynos-socs for smartphones and tablets, but is also a manufacturer for other companies, of which Apple is the best known.
