Apple is probably planning to launch its own download store for wearables. Meanwhile, several developers are said to have an app ready, which is made with an SDK that was recently secretly distributed by Apple.

9 To 5 Mac reports that based on two of its sources. Apple is said to have plans to create a separate download store for wearables, although it is still unclear exactly what this will look like. Competitor Google created a separate category for wearables within the Play Store. If there is a separate download store for Apple’s wearable, presumably a smartwatch, then it is obvious that developers can build separate apps for this. According to 9 To 5 Mac, Apple has already started shipping an SDK that can be used to make wearable apps.

The site states that Apple wants to have a number of apps ready when it introduces its wearable, so that they can be shown to the public. Facebook, among others, is said to have already developed an application. The SDK will probably be made publicly available as soon as the wearable is made public.

Numerous rumors have come out about the suspected smartwatch from Apple. For example, there would be two versions on the market, the most expensive of which would cost $400. There would also be NFC on board, which makes mobile payments with the watch possible. However, sales would not start until next year.

Apple has its own event scheduled for Tuesday. In addition to the new iPhone, the smartwatch is expected to be unveiled then. Apple is one of the few major tech companies that hasn’t announced its own smartwatch yet.
