PUBG: New State is set in 2051 and will be released later this year for Android and iOS

PUBG Studio, the developer behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for PC and consoles, is releasing a new PUBG mobile game this year titled PUBG: New State. This free game is set in the year 2051. The existing PUBG Mobile was created by the Chinese Tencent.

Krafton, the South Korean umbrella company that includes developer PUBG Studio, reports that PUBG: New State will be a free-to-play game for iOS and Android that will be released sometime this year. Interested parties can register through the game’s Android page, among other things; that capability for iOS will follow at a later date. This registration provides, among other things, a skin. When PUBG: New State will be released exactly is still unknown.

An important difference with PUBG Mobile is that PUBG: New State is set in 2051, which seems to be reflected in, among other things, advanced drones, helicopters, cars, gadgets and a futuristic shield. In terms of shooting, there are still traditional firearms, although in the new game players will be able to make adjustments to their weapons. With this, the performance can be increased, a fire mode can be selected or a grenade launcher can be added.

The battle takes place on a new playing field called Troi, where players can discover, according to Krafton, “how the universe has evolved.” There is room for 100 players and the publisher promises high-quality graphics and a stable and smooth gameplay experience. On Android, players need at least a device with Android 6.0 and 2.5GB of RAM.
