Lenovo provides 2-in-1 ThinkPad with Core M CPU
Lenovo has announced a new ThinkPad Helix laptop. The 2-in-1 laptop features a Core M processor based on the Broadwell architecture. The Chinese manufacturer also comes with new Flex 2 hybrids.
The ThinkPad Helix consists of a tablet that can be placed in a keyboard holder both normally and backwards, whereby the manufacturer comes with a regular keyboard part and a Pro variant for a better typing experience. Lenovo supplies a stylus. The 11.6 “screen shows the full HD resolution and contains an IPS panel with screen brightness of 400 nits. Lenovo provides the laptop with a maximum of 8 GB DDR3 and a PCI-e SSD of 512 GB. Also present are support for WiFi-ac and micro HDMI.The ThinkPad Helix will be available in January 2015. Pricing has not yet been announced.
In addition, there is the Flex 2 Pro. This is a 15.6″ laptop whose touchscreen can be tilted by 300, but not 360 degrees. This laptop has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and an IPS screen. The most extensive configuration contains a Core i7 from Intel’s Haswell generation, a GeForce GT 840M GPU, 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD.The Flex 2 Pro includes a backlit keyboard.The laptop will be available in October for a starting price of 799 euros.
