GoPro Hero 8 Black appears to include flip-out mounting bracket
Leaked details and images of the upcoming GoPro Hero 8 Black indicate that the actioncam has a fold-out attachment at the bottom. Also, a new case holder with options for attaching external devices seems to be on the way.
The information and images of the GoPro Hero 8 Black are published by WinFuture, which more often releases correct product information early. The site mentions the presence of an integrated folding mounting fixture. The result of that integration would be that the cover for the battery and memory card has moved to the right side of the camera.
Also new is the possible arrival of the Media Module, a holder that encompasses the housing and contains a microphone and two hot shoes for attaching external devices. One of those devices is the GoPro Light Module with ten LED lights. Furthermore, the Floaty seems to be coming, a housing accessory that makes the camera float and is protected against shocks.
The innovations with the GoPro Hero 8 Black seem to be mainly about the add-ons. The housing and interior are very similar to those of the Hero 7 Black, says Winfuture. There is still a 12-megapixel camera with support for 4k video recording at 60fps. The camera does get HyperSmooth 2.0, an improved image stabilizer for shake-free shots.
It is not known when GoPro will announce its new batch of actioncams. Last year it was on September 20.
