Download Gnome Partition Editor 0.3.9
Yesterday a new version of the Gnome Partition Editor was released. With Gparted it is possible to partition a hard drive or change existing partitions. The program itself isn’t that big, but it usually comes in the form of a live CD, which makes it cross-platform compatible. However, the latest live CD available for download from SourceForge currently still contains version 0.3.7-7 (stable) or 0.3.8-9 (testing), but hopefully that will change soon. Here’s what’s changed in this release:
Key changes include:
- Reduced time to move or copy partitions
- Added ability to create and check hfs+ file systems
Bug fixes:
- Enhanced block size algorithm to reduce move and copy times (#546423)
- Fixed display overwrite problem with % complete messages (#532574)
- Added code hooks for future GParted Manual (#329584)
- Enhanced to use gksu to invoke gparted if available (#381557)
- Added further check for hald daemon if hal-lock is found (#543730)
- Removed unnecessary task of translating GFDL license (#550047)
