Samsung releases Galaxy Tab Active Pro in October for 679 euros

Samsung comes with a new robust tablet. The Galaxy Tab Active Pro has a 10.1″ screen and is therefore larger than its 8″ predecessors. The Active Pro has a 16:10 screen with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670-soc.

Samsung aims with the Galaxy Tab Active Pro at the business market and industrial use. There will be an LTE version with support for 4G connections and a WiFi version. Furthermore, the hardware is the same; the tablets run on a Snapdragon 670 from Qualcomm, have 4GB lpddr4 memory and 64GB emmc flash storage. The storage space can be expanded with a micro SD card.

The tablet is water resistant according to the ip68 rating and is also resistant to shocks. According to Samsung, the tablet has a MIL STD 810G certificate, but it is unclear which test methods the manufacturer has used for this. On the left side of the case is a holder for an S Pen. Samsung supplies that stylus with the tablet.

Samsung puts a 7600mAh battery in the housing with dimensions of 243.5×170.2×9.9mm. The weight is 653 grams. The Galaxy Tab Active Pro is the successor to the smaller 8″ Galaxy Tab Active and Active 2 that Samsung released earlier. The new model runs on Android 9 with Samsung’s own software shell and functions such as DeX and Knox security. October and costs from 679 euros.
