Nintendo will no longer be releasing its re-releases of Nintendo and Super Nintendo games for Nintendo Switch on its monthly schedule. Instead, the games will be released irregularly from now on.

Nintendo announced the news in a blog post. To date, two or three new games have been added to the lineup every month since the re-releases were introduced. That rhythm is now off the table and Nintendo isn’t clear at what pace it will release future reissues of NES and SNES games.

Gamers can access the re-releases via Nintendo Switch Online, the subscription service that costs 19.99 euros per year. As far as the old games are concerned, they currently get access to 46 Nintendo games and 20 Super Nintendo games. The games also have extra functionalities, such as a rewind option and online multiplayer. The re-releases also took place on the Nintendo Wii and the Wii U, but the games were sold there individually.
