‘Microsoft stops with 2GB limit on OneDrive files’
Microsoft is in the process of extending the 2GB file size limit for OneDrive. Several users on Reddit have noted this. The US company also confirms that it is working on this.
Reddit users noticed last weekend that files larger than 2GB were suddenly syncing with OneDrive. This is remarkable, as this was previously not possible due to a limit imposed by Microsoft.
Microsoft says it is now working on expanding the file size limit to an as-yet-unknown limit. “We started with a small number of customers and will roll this out to everyone. We will report more on this in the near future,” a spokesperson told The Next Web.
In a thread from more than a week ago, Microsoft already announced that it is actively working on removing the old 2GB limit. The software giant has said it had been working on this for some time, but the reactions on Reddit suggest that most users will now notice something of this in the short term.
