Sony introduces wireless in-ear earbuds and wireless over-ear headphones

Sony has introduced two new headphones. Those are the relatively cheap wireless earbuds WF-C500 and the over-ear headphones WH-XB910N. The latter is an Extra Bass headset and therefore has amplified bass tones.

Both earphones of the WF-C500 have a single 5.8mm driver and have a battery life of up to ten hours. That is when playing music; when calling they last five hours. The supplied box can provide up to ten hours of extra battery life. If the earphones are charged for ten minutes with the case, they can be used for half an hour. A full charge takes 2.5 hours for the earphones, and about 3 hours for the case.

The in-ear earbuds support Bluetooth 5 and Google Fast Pair. The earphones are also water-resistant according to the IPX4 standard and have buttons to pause or restart music, to select songs or to adjust the volume. Google Assistant or Siri can also be called up with the buttons. The earphones cost 100 euros and will be available from October in the colors black, white, mint green and pink.

WH-XB910N

Sony’s WH-XB910N headphones have larger 40mm drivers and longer battery life. This over-ear model lasts up to fifty hours when playing music and without noise canceling. With noise canceling turned on, the headphones last for thirty hours. These headphones can be charged with a USB-C cable, a full charge takes 3.5 hours. Ten minutes of charging provides a battery life of 4.5 hours. Next to the USB-C port is a 3.5mm port. These headphones come with a 3.5mm cord of 1.2 meters.

For noise cancellation, these headphones use two microphones per ear to pick up ambient noise. Like the WF-C500 earphones, the headphones feature Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine to upscale music. These headphones also support Bluetooth 5.2, Google Fast Pair and Multipoint, so that the headphones can be connected to two Bluetooth devices at the same time.

The Sony WH-XB910N costs two hundred euros and is also for sale from October. This model is available in the colors black and blue.
