Netflix gives green light for season 3 The Witcher and shows new trailer
Netflix has given the green light to film season three even before the release of the second season of its series The Witcher. In addition, there will be a Witcher anime film and a Witcher series “for children and families.”
Netflix does not provide more information about the third season, the anime film and the kid-friendly series at this time. Netflix broke the news about The Witcher at the end of its three-hour digital Tudum event, during which it made all sorts of announcements. The trailer that is shown is still about season 2, partly because there are no images of season 3 yet. The second season will be released on Netflix on December 17.
The trailer shows Cirilla being taken by Geralt to Kaer Morhen, the old fortress where witchers were formerly trained and the School of the Wolf was located. At the chronological point of the series, that school is already a shadow of what it was.
The Witcher series is based on CD Projekt Red’s well-known video games and the book series, written by the Pole Andrzej Sapkowski. In an interview with Gizmodo published in January 2020, The Witcher’s author and original creator is neutral on the games and series; he has not played the games and he does not speak positively or negatively about the series, because his name is in the credits.
