Twitter seems to make a paid function of TweetDeck

Twitter seems to be turning its app TweetDeck into a paid feature that comes in the Blue plan. This is evident from references that a developer has found. TweetDeck has been a free tool for many years.

Twitter is now the page for the paid version of TweetDeck filling, says developer Jane Wong. She more often finds unannounced functions in the code of apps and previously found references to TweetDeck in Twitter’s Blue subscription.

In it, Twitter touts TweetDeck as an ‘ad-free experience’ and a ‘real-time tool for people who live in Twitter’. The entire page is not yet completed, a sign that Twitter is not ready to add TweetDeck to Blue.

TweetDeck came into the hands of Twitter after a takeover in 2011. The service has been dormant for a long time, but since last year Twitter has been paying more attention to it. Twitter Blue is a subscription where users get extra features for a fixed amount per month, including an undo tweet function.
