Vine adds option to make ‘vines’ from older videos on phone
The video app Vine, owned by Twitter, has added an option to create ‘vines’ in the app from already existing videos on the phone. Until now, users could only create new movies with the camera in the app to create vines.
This makes it possible to transform one or more previously created videos on the phone into vines, six-second videos that users can share and why the app is running. In addition, new tools have been added to allow users to create more diverse vines, the Twitter subsidiary writes in a blog post.
Users can combine multiple movies on the phone into a vine or combine them with footage they shoot with the phone’s front or back camera. In addition, there are new options such as a ‘torch’ mode to make movies in the dark and a ‘ghost’ mode to show the last frame as an overlay in order to frame an object in exactly the right place.
Vine claims that millions of people use the app every day and 100 million people view vines every month on the site and on Facebook and Twitter.
