Xiaomi presents Redmi 9 smartphone with 5020mAh battery for 149 euros
Xiaomi has released the Redmi 9, a smartphone with a 1080p screen, and a 5020mAh battery for 149 euros. The phone runs on a MediaTek Helio G80-soc and has four camera lenses on the back.
The Redmi 9 has a 6.53 “LCD on the back with a size of approximately 15x7cm, an area of 104 square centimeters and resolution of 2340×1080 pixels, good for an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. On the top is a teardrop notch for the 8-megapixel front camera The phone measures 16.3 x 7.7 cm, is 9.8 mm thick, and weighs 198 grams.
There are four camera lenses on the back. The primary camera has an angle of view of 75 degrees and a sensor of 13 megapixels, the second camera has an ultra-wide-angle lens of 118 degrees and an 8-megapixel sensor. It also includes a 5-megapixel macro camera and depth sensor. Videos are made at up to 1080p at 30fps.
The 5020 mAh battery can be charged with 18W thanks to Quick Charge 3 support, although Xiaomi also supplies a 10W charger. Charging is done via the USB-C port on the bottom. On the back is a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
The soc is a MediaTek Helio G80 with two Cortex A75 cores and six A55 cores. The 12nm-made soc has a Mali G52MC2 GPU at 950MHz and Xiaomi adds 3GB or 4GB of lpddr4x memory. The emmc 5.1 storage has a capacity of 32GB or 64GB.
Xiaomi will release the Redmi 9 next week, at least in Spain, for 149 euros for the cheapest version. The variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs three tens more.
