Creative Assembly secures ‘Total War Saga: Troy’ brand name
Game maker Creative Assembly has registered the trademark ‘Total War Saga: Troy’ in the UK. It looks like this will be the studio’s next grand strategy game.
The use of the word “Saga” in the trademark indicates that the game deviates from the usual Total War formula and thus should be similar to 2018’s Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia. That game does not focus on multiple eras in history, but on a single period. Thrones of Britannia came out for Windows, macOS and Linux.
The Total War series is a mixture of turn-based strategy, such as that in Civilization, for example, and real-time strategy from Command & Conquer, for example. Additionally, Creative Assembly has recently worked on Halo Wars 2 and Alien: Isolation.
The city of Troy, or Troy, was located in what is now western Turkey and its history stretches from 3000 BC to the year 500. Getting more information about the game for now is just a matter of waiting.
