FCC docs speak of Sonos speaker with bluetooth audio streaming

Sonos has filed two new products for certification with the FCC, one of which is a Bluetooth-enabled speaker. It would be the first speaker from the premium brand that supports Bluetooth.

Models S17 and S23 can be found on the FCC website. S17 is Bluetooth-enabled, according to The Verge, which has gone through the documents. It would be the first Sonos speaker to use Bluetooth for audio streams; the speakers already had bluetooth low energy, but that is only used in the set-up process. Furthermore, this S17 has a USB-c connection, but more is not known.

The other device, the S23, may be a new version of the Sonos Amp, according to The Verge, because an example of printed text is arranged in such a way that it fits snugly on the Amp, which also has the same text in a circle. No other Sonos speaker has that imprint in that way. The existing Sonos Amp is a 2.1 amplifier.

Sonos has sent out invites to an event on August 26 and 27 in New York. There is a chance that these products will be well and truly unveiled there.
